The TBL Lecture
On the 12th and 14th of April, we were honoured to invite three members, Scott , Tanja and Carol, of the Blue Bridge International(BBI), an organization sponsoring cross-cultural personal development, to give lectures. Their wonderful speeches impressed us a lot.
Scott, who has been in a high position in Cisco(思科) for years, shared the growing pains he experienced from his student time to his career. Through his frequent major and job transfers, he tried to show us how to deal with unexpected changes.
Carol, a registered nurse, narrated to the audience her working experiences in hospitals, which appealed to most medical students. Her stories covered her life as a registered nurse as well as a mother, broadening our horizon.
Tanja is an able woman, has been a nurse, a designer, as well as a leader. She recalled the time when she served as a nurse and how she faced patients' death with regret, making her wonder how to live to the fullest. Also, Tanja summarized the elements one needs to be a leader.
At the end of each speech, the friendly speakers were glad to take the questions the students proposed. Though the speakers are members of BBI, they get no pay. They just hope to help students to acquire better opportunities towards development.
